We pulled each provider’s pricing page as the Wayback Machine archived it around 15 October 2025 and compared every plan that still exists with the same spec and billing basis against the price we read today. Most providers did not move. Hetzner and OVHcloud did, a lot.

Hetzner’s CPX42 cost $21.99 a month in October 2025 and $81.99 today (+273%). The median rise among plans that went up is +88%. For the same money, every provider that held its prices now looks cheaper by comparison: see the Hetzner vs Vultr sizes or the cheapest 4 GB servers today.

These providers renamed, re-specced or re-termed their plans, or their old prices cannot be read on the same basis, so they are not in the counts above.
Contabo
The line was renamed and given larger disks. The October page showed euro prices described as a 12-month rate including applicable taxes; today we track rolling-monthly USD prices excluding VAT, so the two are not like for like. In USD, the smallest plan went from $4.95 (April 2026 list) to $6.60.

Hostinger
Hostinger’s pages are excluded from the Wayback Machine, so its October 2025 prices cannot be checked from an archive.
Method
For each provider we fetched the Wayback Machine capture of its public pricing page closest to 15 October 2025 (and one near April 2026) and read the list prices from the archived page. A row is compared only when the plan has the same spec and billing basis today; the current price is the one the site reads daily. EUR-billed plans are compared in euros. Prices exclude VAT where the provider states it.
