The cheapest VPS to host Apache Druid, by its own requirements

Apache Druid is a real-time analytics database. At its recommended spec (8 vCPU, 64 GB RAM), the cheapest plan we track is Contabo Cloud VPS 16 at $44.50 a month (ex VAT), and 2 providers have a plan that fits. At the bare minimum (1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM), VPSDime Linux 4GB at $5.00 would do.

  • The minimum is the nano-quickstart profile, meant for limited evaluations. The micro-quickstart is for quick evaluation on laptops. The recommended figure is the small profile, the smallest one meant for general use.
  • These reference profiles are deprecated in favour of bin/start-druid, which sizes memory from the processors and RAM available.

Nothing here is live or negotiated pricing. Where a provider bills a public IPv4 address on top, it is added to the monthly price, the ranking and every cost per vCPU or per GB, and the row shows the parts: the server, any disk priced apart, and the IPv4 charge.
