DigitalOcean vs Hostinger
DigitalOcean starts $2.49 per month cheaper at the entry tier. Hostinger's entry price needs a 24-month commitment; DigitalOcean's does not. DigitalOcean lists more regions, which matters if latency to a specific city is your constraint. Hostinger is the better pick for buyers ready to prepay two years who want the most RAM for the upfront price.

Where each one wins and loses
DigitalOcean
DigitalOcean built its reputation on flat monthly pricing and documentation that a solo developer can actually finish reading. Droplets are plain virtual machines: you get root access and you own the operating system, the patching and the backups. It is the usual first step off shared hosting for people who want control without a cloud-architecture certification.
Strengths
- Flat monthly price per Droplet size, so the invoice is predictable
- Generous included egress compared with the hyperscalers
- Documentation and community tutorials are unusually good
- Managed databases, object storage and Kubernetes available alongside
Weaknesses
- Unmanaged: OS updates, security hardening and backups are your job
- Fewer regions than AWS or Google Cloud
- Backups and snapshots are billed on top of the Droplet price
Support: Ticket support on all plans; paid support tiers for faster response.
Billing: Hourly metering, capped at the listed monthly price.
Free tier: No permanent free tier. Trial credit is offered to new accounts from time to time.
Hostinger
Hostinger advertises KVM VPS plans with AMD EPYC and NVMe at low monthly prices, but those prices require paying 24 months up front and renew at a higher monthly rate. Prices exclude VAT. This index lists the advertised price with its term and the renewal price in each plan note.
Strengths
- High RAM and disk for the advertised price (4 GB and 50 GB NVMe on the smallest plan)
- AMD EPYC and NVMe on every plan listed
- A dedicated IPv4 address on every plan
Weaknesses
- The advertised price needs a 24-month prepayment
- Renewal prices are much higher than the advertised price
- No month-to-month price is published on the pricing page
Support: See Hostinger for its support terms.
Billing: Paid up front for 24 months at the advertised price; renews at a higher monthly rate.
Free tier: No free tier.

Every plan
The complete plan ladders, with the date and source of every price, are on each provider's page: DigitalOcean and Hostinger.
All figures are the providers' own published list prices in USD, on-demand monthly. The index was last refreshed 2026-10-14, and every row shows the date its own price was read. Nothing here is live or negotiated pricing. Where a provider bills a public IPv4 address on top, it is added to the monthly price, the ranking and every cost per vCPU or per GB, and the row shows the parts: the server, any disk priced apart, and the IPv4 charge. Some prices exclude VAT or need a commitment; the plan notes say which. Check the provider's pricing page before you commit.
